Your library balance
RideComposer 2.0.20: a Balance button in the library. Your tracks by intensity zone, and for each part of the class, enough music to vary your sessions.
You ran three Quick Rides this week, and the cool-down sounds familiar: the same tracks again. That isn't the luck of the draw. It's your library talking.
Since version 2.0.20, it tells you so plainly. In the Library, to the right of the four zone filters, there is a new button: 📊 Balance.

Your tracks by intensity zone
At the top, your tracks spread across the four zones you already know: Warm (1 to 7), Moderate (8 to 12), Intense (13 to 16) and Peak (17 to 20). The number of tracks, and their share of the library.
Just below, any tracks without an intensity. The Quick Ride never offers them, and the balance reminds you.
A message for each part of the class
Then one message for each of the four parts: Warm Up, Ride Body, Cool Down and Stretching.
These messages are not estimates. They count the music exactly the way the Quick Ride picks it: same intensity, same cadence, same duration for each part, and for every class type of your teaching method. A Cool Down, for example, needs tracks with an intensity of 1 to 5, between 85 and 100 RPM.
- 🟢 Great reserve: you have enough for at least 5 different classes without playing the same track twice.
- 🟠 That is enough: your classes are covered, but they will sound alike more often. A few more tracks would make them more varied.
- 🔴 Not enough for one class: the Quick Ride already picks the tracks closest to the rule for you. The message tells you which ones to add.
What runs short first: calm
We ran the balance on a library of more than 15,000 tracks. All four parts are green. But the Warm zone holds only 5% of the tracks, while it feeds three parts out of four: the warm-up, the cool-down and the stretching.
In a small library, it shows straight away. We drew libraries of 500 tracks at random: the Cool Down was short of music in most cases, long before the ride body.
Indoor cycling music is made to push. Calm, slow tracks get forgotten. The balance reminds you, part by part.
The library balance is in RideComposer since version 2.0.20, available at ridecomposer.com.
